Sheila has had a long and distinguished career in theatre, film and television, and worked with Laurence Olivier at the Royal National Theatre. In 1980, she played the long-suffering wife of Trevor Howard in Vivian Stanshall's Sir Henry at Rawlinson End. She played Mrs. Buttle in Terry Gilliam's 1985 cult classic Brazil the same year she appeared as Etta in the dystopian Doctor Who serial Vengeance on Varos, appeared in the TV series All Creatures Great and Small as Mrs Donavan, a rather eccentric woman offering treatments to animals in rivalry to James Herriot and Siegried Farnon, and also had a brief appearance in the first series ofAuf Wiedersehen, Pet. From 2007 onwards she has appeared as Madge Harvey in Benidorm and made an appearance in the final episode of series 1 of BBC Two's 2009 sitcom Psychoville as an old crone. | ||||||||||||

Philip has contributed to many other well known TV series includingHetty Wainthrop Investigates, Shoestring, Virtual Murder, Star Cops, The Good Guys, Crossroads, Thirty Minute Theatre, New Scotland Yard, The Bill and two Doctor Who stories namely "Vengeance on Varos" and Parts 5 - 8 of "The Trial of A Timelord", both of which featured the villainous slug-like "Sil". A third story featuring the return of "Sil" along with the "Ice Warriors" was scheduled for the ultimately postponed season 22 of Doctor Who in 1985, although Philip did complete a novelisation of this story based on his draft scripts. Philip has also worked as a Writer, Producer and Director in Radio Drama for the BBC and was voted Best Director at the New York Radio Festival in, 1990.Other work includes the film "Valentina" and his plays have been performed at, amongst other venues, The National Theatre London, The Royal Court and Liverpool Playhouse. Derek started as a stuntman appearing in many Doctor Who storys including played David Mitchell in the Doctor Who story Image of the Fendahl. In 1978 he appeared as Detective Inspector Fred Pyle in The Detective's Tale, the first play in the BBC television series Law and Order. From 1981 - 82, he played Det. Insp. Berwick in two series of the BBC drama The Chinese Detective. In 1982 he became the second actor to take on the role of R. D. Wingfield's fictional Detective Inspector Jack Frost, starring in a BBC radio adaptation of A Touch of Frost. In 1984 he appeared in an episode of Minder, season 5. He then starred in Eldorado as Alex Morris. He has also made guest appearances in many television programmes including Doctor Who appearing in The Ambassadors of Death as an uncredited heavy, The Claws of Axos as an uncredited UNIT soldier and Image of the Fendahl as policeman David Mitchell, The Sweeney episode 'Messenger of the Gods' as the villain Spooner, Upstairs, Downstairs, The Bill and Only Fools and Horses. Michael Troughton actor, writer and teacher. He is the son of actor Patrick Troughton (known for his lead role in Doctor Who in the 1960s) and the younger brother of David Troughton. He has appeared in many film, television and theatre roles, most notably as Sir Piers Fletcher-Dervish in The New Statesman from 1987 to 1992. Troughton also starred in the first series of Backs to the Land. More recent roles include senior science master Derek Halliday in the Taggart episode "Out of Bounds", 1998, a therapist in the fourth series of Cold Feet and Mr Mermagen in Enigma. According to Internet Movie Database his last appearance on television was in 2002. Michael took a rest from acting in 2002 in order to care for his disabled wife and qualified as a physics and drama teacher. He taught at two schools in Suffolk. In 2009 he stopped teaching and became a full time carer. Troughton's biography of his late father, Patrick Troughton, published by Hirst Publishing, was launched at the 2011 Dimensions Convention in Newcastle in November 2011. |
