My planned wedding day for June 6th was cancelled at 1 days notice and on June 6th D.Day we were diverted from our regular bombing operations to an American base to tow a glider over go Normandy - not informing the U.S. Airborne troops that this was our first time we had towed. ! !

Lost our English skipper due to night fighter attack- our NZ our new Skipper was W/Co Rogers DFC involved in the controversial operation Dec 15th Siegen (aborted) as we entered German airspace when it was claimed that we may have killed Glen Milller . Our completion of a full tour was stopped by flak damage and engine loss on our 34th with 75NZ / enabling us to carry out 64 operations
